Neil Maclean-Martin has worked for over twenty years in the world of elite sport.

To begin with he started working in hospitals and private clinics. At the same time he offered his free time to local sports clubs.
In due time he was asked to work with elite athletes in a number of Institutes of Sport. He was soon asked to accompany the teams on their World Cup circuits.
Furthermore it wasn’t long before he was travelling with these athletes to multiple Commonwealth and Olympic Games. As an IOC Physiotherapist, Lead Physiotherapist with Great British Judo and Lead Physiotherapist with the Scottish Commonwealth Team.
Volvo Ocean Race (2014-2015) and (2017-2018) ‘WINNING TEAM’
Neil became the Performance Director and team Physiotherapist during two series of this round the World yacht race.
Tasked with managing the team’s physical performance. Without doubt it was the most demanding yet rewarding project to date.
And included every aspect of performance, from nutrition to strength training to injury prevention.
Neil travelled with the support team to stopovers throughout the World.

America’s Cup (2016-2017)
Human Performance Director for Team France.
A demanding role which involved Neil managing after every aspect of the physical performance of the team. Throughout preparation and competition.
On the positive side it included a five month secondment to Bermuda for the finals.

Sail GP series (2017-2019)
Human Performance Director for both the French and Chinese teams. Neil again managed the physical performance throughout preparation and competition.
In spite of the challenges of looking after two teams. This involved extensive travel throughout the World.

Neil Maclean-Martin is also a co-founder of BeFitApps. That offers sport specific training programmes and mobile apps.
Designed to help athletes improve technique. The programme identifies imbalances and weaknesses. Before correcting them to improve performance and prevent injury.
Personal life
Since school, Neil has always been an avid sportsman. Participating in sports such as rugby and athletics. At the moment he concentrates on trail running and ski randonnée.
Furthermore Neil has participated in over ten Ultra Marathons on foot and skis. Including the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB, TDS, CCC). And the Patrouille des Glaciers.
